Brisbane Blooms

Brisbane Blooms

A while ago I was taking part in an art competition at the Aspire Gallery called Petite Pieces. I am always exited to be part of such prestige competitions. It;s not my first time taking part and it;s always fun. I had a long break of two years due to my gorgeous little Andrada but now it was time to be an artist again.

For this year, I was inspired by the beautiful city that I live in Brisbane. The watercolour print is inspired by the vibrant , colourful city of Brisbane, so Brisbane Blooms was ready to meet the world.

Tulips, Magnolias, the fabulous Brisbane River, fashion portraits and Ink made this piece come to life. Brisbane runs in my little girls veins and means so much to my family now. She like this piece is a true Brisbanian.

Brisbane is always colourful, fun, vibrant and bright. Since fashion art is my thing, I got inspired by flower crowns, that are so popular here in Brisbane and the River that is so important to all of us. A blessing and a danger at the same time. The city is so stunning and full with flowers….

If you are interested in Brisbane Blooms, please contact the Gallery.

Polar Star Dress

Polar Star Dress

Polar Star Dress

Fashion is such a delicate, sometimes funky and impulsive thing with a touch of surprise. And with the words of Tim Gunn: “Make it Work!” This is exactly what Tatiana Sheverda did! She created a fabulous Polar Star Dress.

90 simple white plastic bags were about to be transformed into this gorgeous dress!

Collect, cut and create strings,…. and start knitting!

Knitting is actually quite fast, and knitting plastic is not only fun but also it gives shape and the panels are to be connected to create the cut. To keep the panels into shape Tatiana treated them with heat from an iron.

E voila… the Polar Star Dress…. Innovative and Made in Australia!

So please if you want to see more funky designs or even order one , check her Facebook out and Instagram! I am a follower and always exited to see more designs from her ! Love the Polar Star Dress!

Ultraviolet…..

Ultraviolet…..

Pantone color of the year 2018 is ULTRAVIOLET

Are you ready for this? I am for sure! I was and am attracted to almost all shades of #purple Ultra Violet is always connected to mystery, cosmos and limitless energy.

Purple stands for artistic power and Ultra Violet pushed boundaries and opens up.

Historically, there has been a mystical or spiritual quality attached to Ultra Violet. The color is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world. The use of purple-toned lighting in meditation spaces and other gathering places energizes the communities that gather there and inspire connection. ( From the Pantone Website)

I got inspired by #ULTRAVIOLET and so Bedouin Iris was born. An illustration sold on Bluethumb .

Do you like Ultraviolet?

DMC – GOLD

DMC – GOLD

DMC

DMC has always been special, from embroidery to crochet thread , all is Crème de la Crème. After a long history of threads, colours, and kits, DMC did something special…. BUT!

This Golden Skein collector’s edition features 24 carat gold wash and is crafted by hand in our factory in Mulhouse, France. 17,460 Golden Skeins are available throughout the world, each are individually numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity. Each luxury box features embossing on the top, gold leaf, and is covered with a light matte film for longevity. Each box is sealed with tape, hand-knotted and packed by hand.( DMC WEBSITE)

This is a nice idea, BUT, even with a massive discount, I find it very expensive. The full price, $115 , well excuse me…. even your discount $40 is simply #nuts!

I create jewellery with embroidery and lace, so how much will the end piece be, if one floss cost $40? Simply insane, specially if you think about that it’s a wash gold……

So no deal for me!

Let me know, would you buy it?

Lorena
